Legal Representation at Judicial Hearing

In most uncontested divorces, the process can be completed without the need for a judicial hearing. However, in certain cases the court may require that at least one of the parties appear before the judge.

In some states, such as Maryland and Texas, at least one hearing is mandatory before the divorce can be finalized. In other states, the need for a hearing depends on the judge's decision and the specific circumstances of the case.

It is important to understand that Divorce Online cannot anticipate or influence the judge's decision regarding whether a hearing will be required, nor determine whether it will be virtual or in-person.

Is Representation Included in the Service Fee?

No.

Attorney representation at a judicial hearing is never included in our standard service fees. If the customer wishes for one of our attorneys to appear on their behalf before the court, they must request it expressly and make the corresponding payment by bank card.

The retention of representation is completely optional. The customer is not obligated to choose our attorney and may opt for any attorney of their preference.

The fees indicated correspond to fees per hearing. If the court schedules more than one hearing, each appearance is billed separately.

What Does Representation Include?

When the customer requests representation, the attorney will file the corresponding Notice of Appearance when required by the court and appear at the scheduled hearing to represent the customer's procedural interests within the scope of the service.

In the event that, for justified reasons, the assigned attorney cannot attend the hearing, we will coordinate representation with a competent local attorney to ensure that the customer is duly represented.

Transparency and Process Control

The decision to request legal representation is entirely the customer's. Our role is to offer the option, explain the conditions, and act in accordance with the customer's request.

We cannot guarantee whether the judge will require a hearing or the format in which it will be held. Each court retains full procedural discretion.

Our commitment is to offer clarity, structure, and options, so that you can make informed decisions at every stage of your process.
